On Saturday 16th September, Marine Drive will come alive with the sounds of motor racing heritage as the Ocean Sprint Revival comes to Southport.

The Speed Trials on the promenade will be a spectacle not to be missed.

 History: Dorothy Levitt competed for the first time in 1903 and returned in 1904 to win. These speed races attracted over 50,000 spectators, many of them accommodated in grandstands erected along the one-kilometre course in front of the many hotels and boarding houses. It was a true landmark event and one of the very first competitive speed events in the country, predating such well-known venues as Brooklands, Donington Park, and Goodwood.
